With Valentine's Day approaching, I thought I'd share some Valentine-themed projects!
Candy conversation hearts have a long history dating all the way back to the 1860s, when Daniel Chase invented a machine to stamp words onto candy lozenges using vegetable dye. Originally made in a variety of shapes from diamonds to horseshoes and postcards, with long mottoes and even poems, the iconic heart shape was eventually launched in 1901.
Taking its inspiration from these popular candies, this free project features pastel felt hearts sporting romantic (or, if you prefer, rejection) messages.
I cut the words out of iron-on vinyl with my Cricut, but if you don’t have a Cricut, you can use hand or machine embroidery, fabric paint, fabric markers, or permanent pen such as Sharpie - or just leave the hearts blank!
