The Promenade Dress is a mid-1940s style raglan sleeve day dress with sweetheart neckline and shaped midriff. It comes with the same 6-gore skirt as the Daytripper Dress, so it’s also compatible with the Swingtime Skirt pattern expansion also released this month (which is my favourite way to make it).
The darted raglan sleeve can be enhanced with shoulder pads for a classic mid-40s look, while the sweetheart neckline is perfect for embellishing with dress clips or a corsage.
What I love about this pattern is the colourblocking options it offers, making it a great stashbuster pattern! View 1 is made in all-over fabric; view 2 features contrast midriff and sleeves; view 3 has a contrast upper bodice.
I named this pattern the Promenade dress because it makes a great day dress, perfect for a promenade in the park!
The Promenade dress is available in vintage sizes 14-24. Get the pattern and instructions on my Patreon page, and look out for the Swingtime Skirt (also pictured), coming soon.
