Hello and welcome to Tuppence Ha'penny! It might seem strange to relaunch a blog when the mainstream seems to be moving away from blogging; indeed, a number of blogs - mine among them - became neglected as we migrated en masse to Instagram and other platforms. So what's with the reboot? Well, Instagram has been great as a creative outlet and for sharing a curated selection of photos, but recently I’ve found myself missing the additional space and flexibility a blog affords. I wanted more of an informal, sandbox-y space, somewhere I can share more detailed tutorials, provide downloadable templates, explore aspects of fashion history in more depth, and publish more photos from my outfit shoots without spamming your instagram feed (you’re welcome).
So after a long hiatus, Tuppence Ha’penny rejoins the blogosphere once more. Expect the familiar mix of 1940s/50s fashions, sewing, and vintage inspiration, plus socials, home decor, feminism, wedding things (I’m getting wed in July!) and lots more! I'll also be pulling popular posts from the archives from time to time, putting to use the accumulated knowledge I've acquired since I originally started my blog back in - what was it, 2009?) to update and improve some of that older content.
Tuppence Ha'penny has always had a creative element, but lately I've been working on a number of different projects so you can expect even more more vintage crafting, templates, and sewing how-tos in 2018. I'm so excited to share my continuing vintage fashion journey with you, and hopefully some useful tutorials and fun projects along the way. I have a lot of plans coming up, so do keep an eye on my Instagram for all the latest updates!
